An artwork a day – Day Five
Apparently, a gigantic thunderstorm visited Kyoto, where I lived in the past year, and so my Facebook newsfeed was flooded with comments and some amazing pictures of this storm. I was always fascinated by lightning as long as I stayed safely inside, and remember that as a kid at the cottage in the South of Switzerland, we would turn off electricity, light a candle and stand at the window, watching the long beams of light flashing across the sky. The photo copyright is by Chihiro Kataoka. As I ran out of black paper, I used a magazine page (NEON May 2015, p. 107), as the colours fit, and I loved the title of their fashion issue TRÄUM WEITER – “Dream On”.
